ABOUT WHARLIE

Hello, we are Judith, Glyn & Julie Davis, and we live in Warley, which is about five miles west of Birmingham, or, one hundred and ten miles north west of London. Our kennel club affix Wharlie, was derived from our home town name and pronounced in the same way (War-Lee).
Our interest in dogs began in the early 1980's, with Afghan hounds, but, it was not until 1992, that we were first introduced to the Tibetan terrier.
The first Tibetan terrier to become part of our family was Cederaire Mister Wiggley (Elliott) born in May 1993 and bred by Mrs Martin, he was owned in partnership between our daughter Julie, and David Johnson of the Khados kennels, Elliott went on to win 1CC and 7 RCC's. Elliott has since been transferred to full Wharlie ownership. Cederaire Mister Wiggley is the sire of Ch. Khados Diamond Delbert, owned by Cheryl and David Johnson.
Sadly, on Friday 13th April 2007 after a prolonged illness, our little man quietly passed away in his sleep.
Our foundation bitch, Goosegog Prarie Rose with Wharlie (Rose) joined us in February 1995, she was born in December 1994, and was one of a litter of ten puppies. She is the mother to both of our litters. Rose won 1 RCC.  Rose became ill and was diagnosed with inoperable cancer, she was put to sleep on Thursday 9th August 2007.
The first Wharlie puppies, were born in January 1997, their sire was Araki Black'N Tan Rebellion at Hardacre, owned by Ann Matthews of the Hardacre kennels. From this litter of four, we kept a gold sable female, Wharlie She's A Pain (Pagan). The highlight of Pagan's show career was winning the RCC at Crufts under Claire Coxall in 1999.
Wharlie Hugo Boss (Hugo) and Wharlie Just Nina (Nina), are the male and female dogs that we kept from our second litter, born in April 1998. The sire of this litter was Nimza Boston Ed Woodybehr, owned by Carol Witcomb. Nina won 1CC and 2RCC's, Hugo has 1 RCC.
During the latter part of 2007, Hugo Boss was mated with Cheryl & Dave Johnsons Khados Patchwork Princess.
Unfortunately, in early December of 2007, Judith was diagnosed with having colon cancer. After undergoing successful surgery she was allowed home, but she would have to receive chemotherapy, which would commence in February 2008. On January 10th 2008, Patches' and Hugo's puppies were born, a few weeks later Judith went to see them, and after several visits she chose the black girl, that we now know as Khados Heaven Scent to Wharlie, we have named her Tia.
But, because of the problems that we now faced with Judith going for her chemo sessions, Tia would have to be left on her own for quite some time and we did not want this to happen, so would Tia have to go to a new home, no way, in stepped Cheryl, who immediately said that Tia could stay as long as it was needed with her. We thank you all at Khados for your support during this time. Thankfully, Judith was given the good news in December 2008, that the cancer had not returned.
We have five Tibetan terriers at present, of which our breeding stock are hip scored and eye tested annually.
